Cockroaches are nocturnal, so it’s most important to block their entry at night.

These nasty guys have been around for about 320 million years and have perfected living harshly with minimal food and water.

Cockroaches prefer tropical, damp and humid environments and make their homes where it’s moist and warm, which means the most likely area to find them is around water pipes, especially the bathroom!

And this story proves it…

WARNING: GRAPHIC GROSE CONTENT AHEAD…

So…if you have been brave enough to scroll…here it is…

A ‘friend’, and this ‘friend’ is not me, but I am using the name Mr X to protect his identity…so anyway, Mr X, got dressed for work this particular morning in the bathroom, and left his PJ’s (Trackies and Jumper) on the floor, to re-wear that night. That night came and when he got out of the shower, dried himself, and attempted to put his trackies on…a cockroach crawled down his leg and escaped from the trackies he had called home for the day…

As you can imagine, screaming commenced along with a second shower…

So, my point is…

THEY ARE AMONG US!

And they LOVE Bathrooms!

So here is my best tip (after serious googling for my ‘friend’ Mr X…) to stop Cockroaches entering via your Bathroom Drains at night.

  1. Use your plugs at night in your sinks, and…
  2. Replace your Drain Grates with ones with very small holes, or mesh ones to prevent the roaches from entering. Here are some pics…Small opening drain coversMesh Drain Covers
